The Curve long-weekend packing list
Friday flight, Saturday tee time, a drive, dinner, Sunday brunch. One carry-on, one tote, one mini. Every piece from our Curve list, with what we know about it.
The weekend
Curve is our practical and polished level for her. Tee time. Rally. Garage. The plan here is three nights: fly Friday, golf Saturday morning, a drive in the afternoon, dinner, brunch Sunday, fly home Monday. Everything goes in one carry-on and one tote, with a mini for the evening. Prices are from each seller's site on October 1, 2026.
The bags
The Monos Carry-On is $275 in Midnight Black, with some colours on sale from $233.75 when we checked. Monos lists it at 6.6 pounds and 39.9 litres and sizes it for two to five days, so a long weekend leaves room. Pack Hacker liked its zipped mesh pockets and the compression pad that doubles as a garment folder, and found the polycarbonate shell scratches. Good Housekeeping found scuffing after its lab drops but no major damage, and suggests a darker colour.
The Cuyana Classic Easy Tote is $298 in Italian leather, fits up to a 16-inch laptop according to Cuyana, and carries by the top handles or the longer shoulder straps. Cuyana's description mentions no zip. Condé Nast Traveler reports that Cuyana launched the Easy Zipper Tote in March 2023 because customers asked for a zippered version of the Easy Tote. If your tote will sit under a seat on a bumpy flight, that may be worth a look.
For the evening, the DeMellier Nano Montreal at $485 is a structured mini in Italian leather. DeMellier says it takes most small to regular phones, cards and keys, with a top handle and a removable strap for crossbody wear. It rides inside the tote on the plane.
Wear on the plane
- Unbound Merino Women's Travel Pants, $218. A tapered barrel trouser in 95% Italian merino with stretch, per Unbound Merino.
- Naadam Original Cashmere Crewneck, $98. Warm on the plane, fine at dinner.
- Cuyana Wool Cashmere Short Wrap Coat, $348, if the evenings are cool.
- Rothy's Daily Flat in ecru, $100.
On the flats: Rothy's says the Daily Flat fits true to size, has an arch-support insole and goes in the washing machine on cold. Its site showed an average of 4.3 out of 5 from 1,017 owner reviews. Wirecutter's March 2026 look at Rothy's core styles had split results, with one tester getting cuts on their heels from a tight-fitting style. The Daily Flat wasn't among the styles it covered. Wear them for a day at home before you fly.
In the carry-on
- Unbound Merino Women's Crew Neck Tee x2, $98 each. The base layer for Saturday and Sunday.
- Foray Golf SS Knit Polo, $160, for the tee time. Foray describes a light technical knit with a fine cable texture, fully washable.
- Unbound Merino Boatneck T-Shirt Dress, $145. Sunday brunch, or Saturday dinner with the mini and different shoes.
- Lunya Washable Silk Bias Slip Dress, $198. Lunya says it is machine-washable mulberry silk, with adjustable non-slip straps. For sleeping, or for dinner.
- Hunza G Square Neck Swim, $255, if there is a pool.
Small things
- Calpak Packing Cubes, five pieces, $57.80 on sale (list $68), with a water-resistant pouch for the wet swimsuit.
- Monos Metro Hanging Toiletry Case, $95. It hangs off the bathroom door.
- Krewe St. Louis sunglasses, $335, for the course and the drive.
- Sony WH-1000XM6, $459.99, for the flight. Our headphones note compares it with the Bose and the Px8.
How it packs
Put the clothes in two cubes, tops in one and everything else in the other, with the swimsuit in the Calpak's water-resistant pouch. The dress and the slip go flat under the Monos compression pad. The flats and the mini ride in the tote with the laptop, headphones and passport. That keeps the carry-on below half full on the way out, which leaves room for anything you buy.
What it adds up to
The bags come to $1,058. The clothes and shoes, counting two tees, come to $1,718. The small things add $947.79. Bought all at once, that is $3,723.79. Most people won't. If you're starting out, the three pieces that do the most work are the carry-on, the travel pants and the tees.
A note on merino
The weekend relies on merino you can wear twice. Our merino wardrobe note collects what reviewers found after weeks of wear, including Pack Hacker's report that an earlier Unbound tee developed small holes and the updated one held up. Tilted Map's reviewer, who wears the women's line, says it doesn't wrinkle and stays fresh for days between washes.
